Colour	Description
Yellow	Infectious waste which requires disposal by incineration
Orange	Infectious waste which may be treated to render it safe prior to disposal, or alternatively can be incinerated
Purple	Cytotoxic and cytostatic waste which must be incinerated in a permitted or licensed facility.
Yellow / Black Stream	Offensive / hygiene waste which may be land filled in a permitted or licensed site
Black Stream	Domestic waste which does not contain infectious materials, sharps or medical products and may be land filled in a permitted or licensed site. Recyclable components should be removed through segregation. Clear or opaque receptacles can also be used for domestic waste.
